In 1967 Jocelyn Bell Burnell and Antony Hewish first observed pulses separated by 1.33 seconds, originated from the same location on the sky. It was not until a second pulsating source was discovered in a different part of the sky that the "LGM hypothesis" was entirely abandoned.
