Amazon is the fourth most valuable public company in the world and the largest Internet company by revenue in the world. Its subsidiary company Amazon Web Services (AWS) as of 2017 owns a dominant 34% of all clouds, while the next three competitors Microsoft, Google, and IBM have 11%, 8% and 6% respectively.

Ten amerykański koncern od dawna jest już nie tylko gigantyczną platformą handlową, lecz także największym na świecie dostawcą rozwiązań typu cloud. Z jego serwerów korzystają m.in. Netflix, BMW, Spotify, Canon czy Unilever.

Amazons AWS-Plattform ist heute die größte Public-Cloud-Plattform der Welt. Zwar macht Amazon keine genauen Angaben über die Kundenanzahl, doch es sollen bereits "mehrere Hunderttausend" sein, die sich auf 190 Länder verteilen. Amazon die Konkurrenz von HP, Salesforce und Google komplett abgehängt hat.
