There are four species of anacondas and all four live in the swamps of South America.

Raccoons are common throughout North America from Canada to Panama. There is archeological evidence that in pre-Columbian times raccoons were numerous only in the Southeastern United States. As raccoons were not mentioned in reports of pioneers exploring the central parts of the United States their spread may have begun as late as 19th century.

Skunks are native to southern Canada, the United States and northern Mexico. The English word skunk originates from languages of American Indians.

Cheetah is a large cat that occurs in North, Southern and East Africa, and a few localities in Iran. Cheetahs prey mainly upon antelopes.

The cougar occurs on a vast range from the Canadian Yukon to the southern Andes of South America. It is the widest range of any large wild terrestrial mammal in the Western Hemisphere.

The cougar is more closely related to smaller felines, including the domestic cat, than to any species of subfamily Pantherinae (of which only the jaguar is native to the Americas).

The jaguar is the largest native cat species of the New World and the third largest in the world, after tiger and lion.

Contrary to popular belief, penguins not only live in the Antarctic, but also, for example, on the South African coast. The northernmost areas of the Equatorial Penguins live on the Galapagos Islands are the most northerly. It is the only species of penguin found in the northern hemisphere.

As the name suggests, the Tasmanian devil is found only on the Australian island state of Tasmania, including tiny east-coast Maria Island, where there is a conservation project with disease-free animals. However, it was once native to mainland Australia.

The initial research works and discoveries of dinosaur fossil sites and their tracks in Mongolia started in the 1920s. Throughout this time, there have been many national and international field expeditions conducted in the country, and more than 80 genera of dinosaurs have been found in the Mongolian Gobi Desert.
