The Carpathian Mountains were formed during the Alpine orogeny. The orogeny has started in the Triassic (200 mln years ago) and continues today, so The Carpathian Mountains are still forming, peaks are still growing.

Karpaty powstały podczas orogenezy alpejskiej. Ta orogeneza rozpoczęła się w triasie (200 mln lat temu) i trwa do dzisiaj. To oznacza, że orogeny alpejskie (Karpaty, Alpy, Himalaje i inne) wypiętrzają się nadal. Ich szczyty są coraz wyższe.
